Amino Acids And Chia Seeds

Twenty percent of the human body is made up of protein. Protein plays a crucial role in almost all biological processes and amino acids are the building blocks of it.

A large proportion of our cells, muscles and tissue is made up of amino acids, meaning they carry out many important bodily functions, such as giving cells their structure. They also play a key role in the transport and the storage of nutrients. Amino acids have an influence on the function of organs, glands, tendons and arteries. They are furthermore essential for healing wounds and repairing tissue, especially in the muscles, bones, skin and hair as well as for the removal of all kinds of waste deposits produced in connection with the metabolism.

A great source of amino acids are Chia seeds:

Chia seeds are tiny black seeds from the plant Salvia Hispanica, which is related to mint. They are an excellent protein source, containing 21 of the amino acids that our bodies need especially for people who eat little or no animal products.

Due to the high fiber content, Chia Seeds help you to lose weight. The fiber absorbs large amounts of water and expands in the stomach, which increase fullness and slow the absorption of foods.

These little seeds are high in calcium, magnesium and phosphorous which are all essential for bone health.

They can be eaten raw, soaked in juice, added to porridge and puddings, or added to baked goods.

You can also sprinkle them on top of cereal, yogurt, vegetables or rice dishes.

I recommend a quarter of a teaspoon of the seeds daily. Place the seeds in a little water, allow to seep for 10 to 15 minutes then drink.

In my opinion Chia seeds really are a super food.
